SACS ACCREDITATION – SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) is a global leader in advancing education through the continuous improvement, organizational effectiveness and accreditation of educational institutions.  The key elements in receiving accreditation are based upon thorough assessment of educational standards and indicators, student performance results, and stakeholder perception.

At the beginning of this school year, all CCS parents were asked to participate in an online survey associated with our upcoming SACS accreditation.  We had very high participation and the results were compiled for the SACS Review Team and submitted in a report online.  Based upon your feedback, overall strengths and areas of improvement were identified for Cathedral-Carmel.  Our SACS Review Team was on campus January 16-18th 2013, and they completed a very thorough review of our school to determine our effectiveness as it relates to student success.  During a portion of this process, the team interviewed a total of 51 individuals (5 administrators, 17 teachers, 7 support staff, 12 students, and 10 parents and/or community stakeholders).  The good news is that we received a glowing report which highlighted areas which have proven the most successful for us:

The SACS Review Team recommended the following:

  • An increase of the use of instructional strategies that differentiate instruction
