CCS Student Places 1st in Writing Competition
CCS 5th grader, Emmeline Rhodes, won 1st Place in the recent Writes of Spring competition. The contest was open to 3rd-5th graders and Emmeline walked away with top honors in the Personal Narrative category with her piece entitled The Great Ice Cream Truck Chase.
The annual Writes of Spring Writing Contest involves K-12 Grade students residing in Lafayette Parish or the surrounding parishes. Students submit original pieces of fiction, personal narratives, or poetry in English, French, or Spanish.
Emmeline received a recognition certificate for her creativity and also a congratulatory letter from Louisiana Lieutenant Governor, Billy Nungesser.
